Computer Applications Course Description

The Computer Applications course offered by the “Global Computer Youth Group” is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in essential computer software and tools. This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to efficiently use technology in everyday life, school, or work environments.

-Course Objectives
– Familiarize students  with basic computer concepts and terminology.
– Teach the practical use  of popular software applications like Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
– Enhance productivity by mastering key tools for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and internet navigation.
– Improve digital literacy and prepare students for advanced computing courses or professional settings.

Key Modules

  1. Introduction to Computers
    – Basic computer concepts, hardware, and software.
    – Understanding operating systems and file management.
  2. Microsoft Office Suite
    – Microsoft Word: Creating and editing documents, formatting text, using templates, and printing.
    –  Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets, basic formulas, charts, and data analysis.
    – Microsoft PowerPoint: Creating presentations, slideshows, animations, and transitions.
  3. Google Workspace
    – Google Docs: Real-time collaboration, cloud storage, and document creation.
    – Google Sheets: Data entry, basic calculations, and sharing.
    – Google Slides: Designing and presenting ideas digitally.
  4.  Internet and Email
    – Safe browsing, using search engines effectively.
    – Creating and managing email accounts, sending attachments, and email etiquette.

Duration
– Course Length: 6 to 8 weeks
– Weekly Hours: 4 to 6 hours (flexible schedules available)

    – Level: Beginner
    – No prior knowledge of computers is required.
